A Beltane fire to make you warm,
Protect you well and keep from harm;
A pinch of seed for you to sow
That you will with the flowers grow;
Adorned with blooms and ribbons bright,
I bless you on this Beltane night.

Untamed
Know this now...know it well.
I will not be tamed.
Neither by circumstance,
Nor by you.
Know me now, in this form....
I will not be tamed
And you...
You never should have been.
So here is what I propose ~
Do not attempt to tame me
And I will retrain you on who you are.
In this way of mutual honor
We can coexist,
As Love guides us both...
The long-tamed you,
And untameable me.
Namasté Kathleen

This is not one of mine, but it's important to me that it is saved for me, so have put it in here. I hope it speaks to you a it speaks to me. x

You're so vain
A parody :)
You logged on to your Facebook page
Like you were logging on to your life;
Your glass was full, your brain on hold,
You were ready for angst and strife..........
You had one eye on your messages
As you watched your newsfeed roll,
And all your 'friends' said that they would all love you,
Like all your photos, and
You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you
You're so vain!
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you?
You saw the pics of the dinners and kilts,
The kitties and old ones of me,
Then you found the meme I posted up on my wall,
And took it personalleeeeee......................
Your eyes they rolled and you swore a bit
As the likes they grew and grew......................
You made a face, with some rather choice language,
Rather choice language, and
You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you
You're so vain!
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you?
Well I hear you're mighty pissed off at me,
It would come to a bitter end;
You were running me down to all your mates,
Were going to hit 'unfriend'!
Now you're where you should be all the time,
And that's nowhere on my list...............
So I hit the zap and sent you off through the ether,
Off through the ether, and
You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you
You're so vain!
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

I will know your face
I will know your face
By the trace of my fingers
Finding your story in the lines,
The etchings of your sorrows
And the crinkles of your smiles.
I will find your love on your lips
And the passion of your soul in your eyes
A touch, a stroke,
That lingers to catch every untold word
Of your times past, times present and times yet to come
Your very self is at my fingertips
For me to find and hold in my heart.
By the trace of my fingers
Finding your story in the lines,
The etchings of your sorrows
And the crinkles of your smiles.
I will find your love on your lips
And the passion of your soul in your eyes

Your very self is at my fingertips
For me to find and hold in my heart.

Blessing on the winter Solstice
May winter see you safe and warm,
With fire and food and love;
With friendships, family, those held dear
And light from up above.
A happy heart, a peaceful mind,
A conscience clear and true,
Many years of smiles and joy -
My solstice wish for you.
Blessings

Wee fat fairy
I am a wee fat fairy, I have a wee fat wand,
I have a fairy dress (and wings)
Of which I'm rather fond.
It's made of lace and ribbons
And gathered into pleats;
It's got pink bows and furbelows
And goes right to my feets.
My crown is made of silver,
My hair's a shade of gold,
My face is young and childish
Although I'm very old.
I'm brought out each December
And tied upon a tree
In all my grace and finery,
Up there for all to see.
I guard the chocolate pennies,
The candles and the treats,
The little lantern candles,
The crackers and the sweets.
I have a secret boyfriend,
He's on the branch below,
He's a soldier with a rifle,
For fighting every foe.
His uniform is smart and red
His paint work is still good,
He really is my heart's desire,
Although he's made of wood.
The lamps are lit, the tinsel glows,
Ad Christmas Eve is here;
There's smiles on all the faces
All good will and cheer.
I love the carol singing
And all the happy banter,
The mistletoe and holly wreaths -
I've even cuddled Santa!
I love the crappy Christmas jokes,
The mince pies and the pud,
The fathers feigning soberness,
The children feigning good.
I sit up there and cast my eye
On all that's down below
Until twelfth night is here again,
And the it's time to go.
I', taken down, my hair is brushed,
My dress is patted straight,
My wans is back upright again
(The wings will have to wait).
The box comes out, the tissue's found,
I'm put gently in my place;
I'm covered u from head to toe
My feet ad arms and face.
I'm there again for ten months straight,
But I'm happy with my rest;
Another Christmas come and gone,
I know I've done my best.
I've been around for twenty years
It could be more - true.......
So I for one believe in me -
Surely you do too?

Samhain blessing
Samhain blessing
As winter knocks upon your door and fires are lit within,
Open up your mind, your heart,
And let the seasons in;
Look past at bounty, harvests won,
Respect the earth, the moon, the sun
And when the winter seems too deep,
Remember close your friends to keep.
Take your peace and take your rest,
Live for now and know you're blessed.

The Pink Jacket
The Pink Jacket
I chose the wool with extra care,
The deepest, softest pink,
Slightly fluffy, nice and soft,
The very best, I think.
It knitted up quite quickly,
The stitches flat and neat,
The back, the fronts, and then the sleeves,
It really did look sweet.
About a fortnight later
The job was all but done
And I sewed the buttons down the front
Sat outside in the sun.
The jacket, wrapped in tissue,
Was stored away that day,
Awaiting your arrival
Towards the end of May.
The big day came, and you were born,
There were such tears of joy!
Alas the jacket wasn't worn -
You were a baby boy!

The Joys f Wild Living
The Joys of Wild Living
The joys of wild living are surely not for me;
I'd rather stay at home and have a cup of tea.
I'd no sooner be reckless than fly through the air,
Or dye my hair purple without a thought or care.
Dare-devil jumping, swimming with whales,
Eating dodgy body bits, testicles and snails;
Going naked in the winter, on a trip down to the shore,
Singing Glory Hallelujah as I surf the Severn Bore.
Riding bareback horses, howling loudly at the moon,
Knitting orange bedsocks whilst reading Lorna Doone;
I could give away my worldly goods, my chickens and my ducks,
Drive the wrong way down the High Street shouting 'I don't give two f***s!'
Packing up my bags and hats to take exotic trips,
With learning how to levitate I could really get to grips!
Turning up at public meetings just to cause a bit of trouble,
And meeting up with witches - all that toil and hubble bubble!
I could shave off all my hair and pierce my nipples and my tongue,
And when people look in horror say I've only just begun......
A belly bar and sari pants I think would be quite nifty
Roller skates and body boards although I'm over fifty.
Eating cold baked beans and ravioli with a spoon out of a tin,
Pouring ketchup on your ice cream, is it really such a sin?
Staying up till dawn and watching rubbish on TV,
Drinking single malt with ice cubes and lots of cups of tea.
Leave your nettles growing, no matter what the neighbours say,
Make your lawn into a meadow and give away the hay.
Leave your washing out for days and days and watch them all complain
Grow your pot in hanging baskets and picnic in the rain.
Shocking maiden aunts with knowledge of the Kama Sutra,
Gonna get myself a toyboy, a helmet and a scooter;
Spend my lunchtimes in the local, drinking Babycham and wine,
Picking up the local young men, shouting 'All come back to mine!'
These things might seem quite tame to some, and definitely not wild,
Some might think them boring, dull, and just a little mild
But to me they represent my thoughts, ideas and ambitions,
I get fed up with doing 'nice' things, being 'good' and old traditions.
Such things that I would do ofcourse, are just designed to shock
At a certain time of life, against the ticking of a clock.
I need to break out, run away and make a damn girt noise,
Lose my head and lose my marbles, my dignity and poise....
It's nice to have a pipedream to sit and muse upon
Just to keep me company when all my friends are gone.
I might have done these things above, it might be all for show,
It might be my imagination, you'll really never know.
There'll be no mourning for a life misspent or ruing things I've done,
Or worrying that I may have just missed out on all the fun.
For after all, remember this, when all is done and said,
The joys of wild living can be all inside your head..................

What I will be
I'd sooner be quirky than kitsch,
I'd rather be nice than a bitch;
I'll not buy, but make,
Be real not a fake,
And I'd rather be happy than rich.
I'd rather be nice than a bitch;
I'll not buy, but make,
Be real not a fake,
And I'd rather be happy than rich.

Baa-hemian Rhapsody
Baa-hemian Rhapsody
This is all real wool!
It's not a fantasy,
Caught in a woolslide, it's a lovely reality!
Open your stash,
Don't think of the cash, just see..............
I'm just a knitter, I need no sympathy
Because it's cast on now, in the round
Towards new socks I am bound,
Any way the wool rolls, doesn't really matter to me, to me............
Mama, cast on again,
Put the needles underarm,
Where they can't do any harm;
Mama, socks have just begun
But now I find I just can't put it down!
Mama ooooooo
Didn't mean to make you sigh
If they're not knit and done this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as knitting really matters................
Too late, I've reached the heel,
Swapped my tens for number nines,
Needles clicking all the time,
Goodbye everybody, I've got to knit!
Gotta leave you all behind and face the toe.......
Mama oooooooo ( any way the wool rolls)
I don't want to frog!
I sometimes wish I'd never cast on at all.............
I see a little ladder of a dropped stitch
Pick it up, pick it up
Can I do it nice and neatly?
Loosening and tightening, very very frightening me!
Zimmerman and Fassett,
Liz Lovick, Katie Davis
And co.... magnifico..................
He's just a poor stitch, laddered down the sock leg
Spare him his gauge from this monstrosity!
Easy now, pick him up, can I pick him up,
Feather and fan, I will not let you go - let you go
Print o' the wave, I will not let you go - let you go
Old shale and more, I will not let you go - let you go
Will not let you go - let you go (never)
Never let you go - let you go
Never let you go - oooooo
No no no no no no no!
Oh mama mia, mama mia, got you now,
My pattern has special place for you
For you
For you!
So you think you confuse me with Kitchener stitch
So you think I can't take you to my Stitch'n'Bitch?
Oh baby, I can finish you baby,
Just got to cast off, just got to cast off now right here!
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah,
Knitting really matters,
Anyone can see,
Knitting really matters, to me
Any way the wool rolls...........................

Words
Do not be uncomfortable with
My truths I give you,
Wrought with fragile apprehension
From my heart's secret, honest depths.
A life too short,
With words unsaid
Is not for me.
Dawn
I watch the dawn come gently,
Paint the sky with form and hue
Colouring a brand new day
Heavy with optimism
And promises of
Peace and joy and wonder
To cheer the heart and nourish
The soul,
To seize as if
Another day may never come again.
Paint the sky with form and hue
Colouring a brand new day
Heavy with optimism
And promises of
Peace and joy and wonder
To cheer the heart and nourish
The soul,
To seize as if
Another day may never come again.
The Wisdom of my Soul
My heart beats
To the music of our friendship,
The wisdom of my soul in tune
With the then, the now, and what is yet to come.
Shared joys fill the days
With light and laughter,
Warmth and belonging
Giving strength and hope to hold fast upon
When time decrees.
We share the moon, the stars,
The very stuff of earth
Where countless lovers' feet have trod as one,
Towards an everlasting love
That is the very essence
Of my wild and precious soul.
To the music of our friendship,
The wisdom of my soul in tune
With the then, the now, and what is yet to come.
Shared joys fill the days
With light and laughter,
Warmth and belonging
Giving strength and hope to hold fast upon
When time decrees.
We share the moon, the stars,

Solstice blessing
I wish you all you wish yourself,
Your share of love and peace and health;
Good friends with loving, thoughtful ways
To help you through your darker days.
Sun and laughter, lots of kisses,
Much success and few near misses;
Make the best of every day
Embrace your life in every way.
Blessings

Cry
Let me cry.
Cry my heart out - inside out;
Sob for minutes, hours days........
Release the hurt of fifty years.
Don't try and stop the well of tears with
Platitudes and cliches, with empty words that seek
To smooth, to pacify and re-bury.
Let me cry.
Let me get it outside of myself,
Rid my heart and soul of the heavy weight conveyed
Within, slowly dripping, slowly chipping away,
Drowning from the inside.....
From a million cries confined,
Unlistened to, ignored by you and others.
I need not make a note of what they aim to say
They are mine, these tears, they are mine and me,
They are mine and me combined.
I know them well.
Let me cry
Lest the burden that they make
Finally overcome and overwhelm and
Leave the shell of me
Empty, dried even of those tears
With nothing left to say or give.
Let me be, let me cry.

Blessing for the winter Solstice
May your soul be filled with blessed joy,
Your heart be filled with love;
Your spirit optimistic be
With hope from up above.
A few kind words to see you through
The pain and tears ahead,
And trust and heartfelt insight
To hear the love unsaid.
Your heart be filled with love;
Your spirit optimistic be
With hope from up above.
A few kind words to see you through
The pain and tears ahead,
And trust and heartfelt insight
To hear the love unsaid.

Lughnasadh blessing
May your corn ripe well
And your fruits grow sweet,
Love and abundance at your feet;
May your harvest feed you
And never doubt,
It will feed you both within and out.
May your heart be still
And your soul at rest
Know that you are truly blest.
Blessings on this special day

Twas the night before shopping.............
Twas the night before shopping
And all through the house
Tummies were rumbling
Yes - even the mouse!
Fridges were empty
Apart from some scraps -
A half of a lemon and two crumbly baps.
Soft tomatoes and onions were chopped in a pan,
With leftover cheese sauce (not out of a can).
Shreddings of ham from the last of the pack
And a handful of mushrooms I found at the back.
On with the pasta
In all kinds of shapes,
Oddments from four bags
Not one did escape!
Then came the question
the Five O'clock Shout:
'What is for tea mum, or will we go out?'
All was cooked up
Just using my wits,
That great mothers' standby
'Pasta - with bits' !
And all through the house
Tummies were rumbling
Yes - even the mouse!
